ABERSOCH
COTTAGES Hafod
y Nant Immediate
vicinity:
Hafod y Nant is located in the small hamlet of Sarn, which is 2 miles
from Abersoch.
It is accessed along an undulating 1 mile-long farm track, so expect a
few bumps and cattle along the way.
The property sits adjacent to a working Welsh farm and we (the owners)
are always on hand if you ever need assistance or advice with anything.
Cilan mountain is a short drive/ walk away and from here you can marvel
at the panoramic views of Hell's Mouth. On Lon Sarn Bach, there is a well
stocked minimarket selling food and drinks and a further half a mile
brings you to the very picturesque and popular seaside town of
Abersoch. There are numerous beaches and coves to visit such as Porth Mawr and Porth Ceiriad.
Abersoch is widely recognized as the place to be seen on the Llŷn Peninsula , with footballers and celebrities fast cottoning on to this privileged corner of North Wales. It boasts great shops, restaurants, stunning scenery, clean and unspoilt sandy beaches, great sailing and absolutely breathtaking sunsets.
A walk into Abersoch from the property would take around 45 mins
and here you will find a variety of chic boutiques, a
small supermarket, bank, post office, delicious fish and chip shops,
souvenir shops and a handful of good restaurants, few pubs, hotels and
other amenities.
The vast sandy beach of Borth Mawr is stunning as is the quaint
harbour
Pwllheli, which means 'salt water pool' is the unofficial capital of the Llŷn Peninsula. This busy up and coming market town is a mere 20 minutes car journey from Sarn and is bursting with character and a warm Welsh welcome!
Apart from the numerous independent shops, souvenir stores, supermarkets
and restaurants, there are also interesting art galleries, antiques
shops and curiosity stores dotted around town for you to explore.
The narrow streets and coffee culture vibe gives this Welsh town
a very continental feel. Pwllheli's south facing sandy beach stretches
out for what seems like miles and has proudly been awarded the
European Blue Flag Award.
At the picturesque seaside village of Aberdaron
10 miles west of Sarn, you can catch the ferry to Ynys Enlli (The
Island of 20,000 Saints) from Porth Meudwy (weather permitting) or hire
a private charter from Pwllheli. Ynys Enlli is a designated site of
special scientific interest and as legend has it is the burial site of
King Arthur. This remote, rugged and religious island has Abbey ruins,
a lighthouse, bird observatory and a wide variety of flora & fauna.
You may catch a glimpse of grey seals, bottlenose and Risso's Dolphins
and porpoises. For more information visit www.enllicharter.co.uk.
